Feed the Keys 2026

 

This year’s campaign will run from September 28 through October 9, with Friday, October 9 serving as the primary collection and drop-off day.

 

Donations will benefit four local food pantries throughout the Florida Keys:

–Burton Memorial Church (BMC) in Tavernier

–KAIR (Keys Area Interdenominational Resources) in Marathon

–Keys Community Church in Big Pine Key

–Star of the Sea Foundation (SOS) in Key West

 

Last year, our community came together to collect an incredible 8,339 pounds of food for Florida Keys families experiencing food insecurity. This year, we hope to make an even greater impact.

 

What is Feed the Keys?

 

Feed the Keys is a United Way of Collier and the Keys initiative honoring former Board Member “Mangrove Mike” Forster. The first “Be Like Mike” Day was held on October 21, 2022, what would have been Mike’s 62nd birthday. Since then, this annual tradition has continued with a focus on fighting hunger in the Florida Keys.

 

Partner with UWCK:

From September 28 – October 9, local businesses and civic organizations are invited to host their own Feed the Keys collection site.

Invite your employees, customers, members, and community partners to donate nonperishable food items and help fill your collection boxes (provided by UWCK).

Hosting a site is an easy and visible way to engage your team, inspire generosity, and support families in your community.
